Is your cat a fussy eater?

By June 11, 2017 Uncategorized

Some cats are just plain fussy – when it comes to where they sleep, eat and play. However, some felines appear to be finicky, when, in fact, there is a root cause. If your cat tosses food from its bowl or just won’t eat, there can be many causes, including illness. But, on rare occasions, it could be whisker fatigue.

Cats’ whiskers are sensitive, and if these touch the side of the bowl when eating, it can cause them stress. Many cats don’t mind, but there are a few who develop eating problems due to this. So, try a wider dish – one where their whiskers won’t touch the sides, and see if that helps. If not, give me a call at Gagemount Animal Hospital and we can discuss this further.
