Bait drop planned

By June 6, 2017 Uncategorized

Rabies continues to be a problem in Hamilton, with cases now totalling 242. To address this growing concern, this summer the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is going to drop over 750,000 vaccine baits in the area, hoping to get the outbreak under control.

Most of the rabies cases have involved raccoons, but skunks with the disease have also been reported. Two cats, a fox and a llama have also tested positive.

The best thing you can do is get your cats and dogs vaccinated, and don’t go near any animal that is acting strangely.
