Rick's Retirement Letter
After over 30 years as a veterinarian, and 28 years at Gagemount Animal Hospital, I am moving on to the next chapter of my life. My last day will be November 24th.
I knew I wanted to be a vet at a really young age, and the profession has been everything I hoped it would be. There will always be hard and sad times in the medical field, but so many good and rewarding times more than makes up for those. To care for your family members from puppies to seniors is a privilege.
My clients have been amazing, and it was an honour to be trusted with the care of your furry family members. I have enjoyed watching your families grow and now have second generation clients with their own pets.
I also have been fortunate to have the best staff a veterinarian could ask for. Some have been with me for many years and I thank you all, past and present, from the bottom of my heart for your dedication, loyalty, professionalism, hard work, skill and for putting up with me, lame jokes and all.
I will miss all of my clients and staff, as well as the incredible pets who made each day a pleasure. But it is time to move on to the next stage of my life - travel, golf, pickleball, more time with my wonderful wife and children.
It is bittersweet, but time to say Goodbye. Thanks for the memories.
Dr. Rick
